Clwyd West Assembly Member Darren Millar has welcomed news that a school in his constituency has received a cash boost thanks to the National Lottery.
Ysgol Bryn Elian in Old Colwyn was awarded £7,500 of National Lottery funding in July after successfully applying to the National Lottery Community Fund.
The project will improve IT skills across the local community by encouraging more girls to study computing, teaching coding and robotics to children from feeder primary schools, and offering adult evening classes.
Darren said:
“This is absolutely fantastic news. We are all aware of how crucial IT skills are in this technological world in which we live, so it is great that Ysgol Bryn Elian has received this funding to enable the school to improve these skills among not only the younger generation but also adults in the local community.
“I would like to congratulate the school on their successful Lottery funding application and wish them every success with this project.”
