Clwyd West AM Darren Millar has recently enjoyed meeting with local volunteers and elderly club users at the WRVS Parkway lunch club in Rhos-on-Sea.
The lunch club provides those who use it with a hot nutritious meal. It also gives older people in the Rhos-on-Sea area a chance to leave the house, meet friends and enjoy activities with a group of friendly and committed volunteers.
These invaluable activities can go a long way to reducing the isolation and loneliness that can set in when getting out and about is difficult.
Following the visit Darren said,
"I was absolutely delighted to visit the Parkway Lunch Club for a second time.
"The club provides an incredibly important opportunity for social interaction and companionship that can be hard to come across as we age.
"The local WRVS volunteers do a wonderful job and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting them, and those they serve."
Sally Rivers, Head of Services for Wales, said:
"We were really pleased to welcome Mr Millar to the WRVS Holywell social club.
"Having a chance to meet with our volunteers and experience the service first hand is a fantastic way to experience just how important the club is to those who use it, and why the volunteers enjoy their work so much."
