Leader of the Welsh Conservatives in the Senedd and Clwyd West MS Darren Millar has paid a visit to postmen and women who are working flat out to ensure people across Denbighshire receive their Christmas cards and parcels in time for the big day.
The visit to Rhyl Sorting Office on Tuesday gave Darren an insight into the increased workload faced by postal workers during the festive season.
Speaking after the visit, Darren said:
“Christmas is Royal Mail's busiest time of the year with the volume of letters and parcels increasing substantially.
“It was good to meet with the team at Rhyl to gain a greater understanding of how they manage such vast amounts of mail.
“I was given a tour of the busy office and got the chance to meet and speak with postmen and women, as well as those leading the team.
“They are a dedicated and hardworking bunch, and they are working flat out delivering thousands of items of post every day, including letters, cards, and parcels. At this time of year, the weather is not always on their side, but they are out there regardless in all conditions, helping to ensure that our Christmas wishes and presents are delivered to our loved ones at this special time of year.
“I am very grateful for all their efforts and I am sure everyone will join me in thanking them for all their hard work.”
