Clwyd West MS Darren Millar has congratulated Rydal Penrhos School, in Colwyn Bay, on its recognition in the 2024 Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Awards.
The Awards are given in recognition of exceptional work done to support the armed forces community.
Darren, who Chairs the Senedd’s Cross-Party Group on the Armed Forces and Cadets, also gave the welcome address at the awards presentation ceremony on Wednesday 17 July.
Speaking after the event, Darren said:
“It’s fantastic to see Rydal Penrhos School among a growing number of organisations who go above and beyond in support of the armed forces community.
“The school has done particularly good work in support of service families in recent years.
“Many congratulations to the School on your Silver Award; I trust this will soon become a Gold!”
Among the 18 other award winners were Powys County Council, Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, and Wrexham University.
The ceremony was held in Cardiff Bay’s Pierhead Building, and was accompanied by a Royal Gun Salute to mark the birthday of Her Majesty the Queen.
