Shadow Minister for North Wales and Clwyd West MS, Darren Millar, has welcomed news that planning permission has been granted for a new country park next to Bodelwyddan Castle.
The project has been made possible thanks to £900,000 it has received from the UK Government through its Shared Prosperity Fund.
Commenting Darren, who is the MS for Clwyd West, said:
“I was thrilled to hear that planning permission for this country park has finally been granted.
“It will be a huge asset to Bodelwyddan, adjacent to the castle, attracting not just residents of Denbighshire and Conwy, but visitors from much further afield too.
“It will be situated in a great location just off the A55 and will have its own car park to make it more accessible.
“The purpose of a country park is to provide a place with a natural, rural atmosphere for visitors who may not necessarily want to venture out into the wider countryside.
“These parks offer a public open space with an informal atmosphere, as opposed to the more formal parks typically found in urban areas.
“It will be in beautiful location, with far reaching views of the breathtaking landscape of North Wales, and I, like many others I’m sure, very much look forward to visiting once it is open.”
