Clwyd West MS Darren Millar is encouraging talented young people in sport, education and the arts in Conwy county to apply for grant funding to help them reach their potential.
Applications are now being accepted for the latest round of Conwy County Borough Council’s ‘Conwy Excellence Fund” fund.
The fund provides grant aid to those aged under 30 years old who are either competing at a national level in sport or are talented in the arts, dance, music, drama and education.
Encouraging eligible young people to apply, Darren said:
“We have many talented young people in all these fields across Conwy, and I am keen for them to be aware of this exciting opportunity to help them reach their goals.
“The funding can be used for a range of support including the purchase of equipment, training, travel or accommodation.
“I know for some the financial costs of these pursuits can prevent them from progressing and reaching their potential, which is a great shame.
“The grants are offered up to the value of £800 and will help ensure that our talented young people are not held back.
“The Fund was awarded to 35 people in 2023/24 and I am sure it will prove just as popular this year.
“Applications for this current round of funding are open until 10 June and I encourage people to apply.”
More information about the Excellence Fund and details of how to apply are on the Conwy website.
