Shadow Minister for North Wales, Darren Millar MS and Vale of Clwyd MS Gareth Davies visited a Rhyl GP surgery last week to discuss GP services and health provision in the local area.
The two MSs called at Madryn House Surgery, which is situated on Madryn Avenue, on Friday to meet with Drs Elizabeth Scriven and Rachael Read and Practice Manager Dominique Walker to hear more about the pressures GP practices are currently facing and the need for the Welsh Government to improve the General Medical Services contract.
Speaking after the visit, Darren said:
“It was great to meet the team at Madryn House and to chat to them about their priorities and concerns.
“They work extremely hard, under immense pressure at times, so I would like to take this opportunity to thank them the doctors, and all other staff at the surgery, for the great service they are providing to patients in Rhyl.
“Sadly, many surgeries are struggling to cope and patient satisfaction with their local surgery is falling so it is good to see a practice operating so efficiently and providing the service that patients need.
“The visit was extremely useful, and Gareth and I can now feed back the concerns raised with us by the doctors to the Welsh Government.”
