Commenting on the news that an executive director at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board was paid more than three times the maximum allowed for her role, a report has revealed, Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for North Wales, Darren Millar MS said:
“The fact the Health Board has had its accounts qualified for a second year in a row is extraordinary and raises serious questions about the effectiveness of the Welsh Government's intervention and escalation regime.
“Taxpayers in North Wales must have confidence that those responsible for spending on public services are good stewards of the limited resources allocated to them.
"It is totally unacceptable that public money has being frittered away on excessive and under-reported salaries while patients are languishing on waiting lists, emergency departments are failing, and people can't access an NHS dentist.
He added:
“This is yet further evidence of the need for complete regime change at the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board to put an end to the rot once and for all.”
