Clwyd West MS Darren Millar is delighted that Ruthin has been announced as one of the 11 projects in Wales that will benefit from the latest round of the UK Government’s Levelling Up Fund.
Denbighshire will receive £11 million to restore historic monuments in Ruthin and pay for improvements to the townscape.
The funding will also be used to provide new community facilities in the villages of Bryneglwys and Gwyddelwern and visitor facilities at Moel Famau and Loggerheads.
Darren said:
“This is great news for Clwyd West and Ruthin in particular which will see huge improvements to the town as a result of this funding.
“These improvements will not only benefit locals, but by creating open spaces will make the town more appealing to visitors.
“The investment in neighbouring Moel Famau and Loggerheads will also encourage more visitors to the area.
“After a challenging few years due to the pandemic, this is just the boost the area needs.”
Darren added:
“I know a great deal of work has gone into securing this funding and I would like to thank all those who have been involved in the bidding process.”
