Commenting on HIW meeting on Betsi Cadwaladr vascular services Welsh Conservative and Shadow Minister for North Wales Darren Millar MS said:
“Health services in North Wales are under the spotlight yet again for all the wrong reasons. People in the region feel let down by NHS leaders who appear to be utterly incapable of improving the services that patients rely on.
“Access to safe, high quality vascular services is essential for people across North Wales and it is totally unacceptable that patient safety and outcomes have been compromised.
“Today’s news clearly demonstrates the fact that the decision to take the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board out of special measures was politically motivated and not based on making the decisions and improvements that people have been promised.
“The Welsh Government must accept its responsibility for these failures and hold those responsible to account.”
