Clwyd West AM Darren Millar is backing a grassroots campaign to show support for our hardworking NHS Wales staff and blue-light emergency services.
Thought to have originated in the Vale of Glamorgan, the campaign has seen people tying blue ribbons to streetlights, railings, and park benches to give a visual “thank you” to nurses, doctors, paramedics, cleaners, and all staff working to battle Covid-19 (Coronavirus).
Darren said:
“We are all immensely proud and thankful for the fantastic work our NHS staff are doing in these extremely challenging times, and whist people are showing their support every Thursday at 8pm by taking part in the nationwide applause, this would show staff on a daily basis that we are all very much behind them and are incredibly grateful for everything they are doing.
“Our NHS staff have been working so hard in recent weeks and face many more tough times ahead and it would be fantastic if all households across North Wales showed their gratitude in this simple way by tying a blue ribbon outside their home, on their gate, a local lamp post, or a tree. Those who don't have a ribbon could draw one on paper and display it in their window. Let’s turn North Wales blue for our National Hero Service.”
