Seven-year-old Wil Roberts, a pupil at Ysgol Carreg Emlyn in Clocaenog, near Ruthin, has been declared the winner of Clwyd West Assembly Member Darren Millar’s annual Christmas card competition.
Once again, hundreds of children from every corner of the constituency entered the competition and Darren’s constituency office in Abergele was inundated with designs.
The theme this year was Christmas animals and the card sponsor was the Welsh Mountain Zoo, which provided a family ticket to the zoo as a prize to the winner.
Darren said:
“As always the standard of entries was extremely high and I would like to thank all those who took the time to come up with such brilliant designs. Unfortunately, there could only be one winner and this year it was Wil whose design stood out to me the most. I particularly liked it because it captured the true essence of Christmas by having Jesus at the centre. I am sure that everyone who receives my Christmas card this year will also impressed when they see Wil’s design.
“I hope that Wil and his family enjoy their prize of a day out to the amazing Welsh Mountain Zoo and also have a fantastic Christmas”.
