Clwyd West AM Darren Millar visited a Denbighshire School last week to join staff and children in celebrating the news that their school is to be kept open.
The future of Ysgol Llanbedr was uncertain for five years, but last month, after much campaigning by parents, staff, pupils and Darren, the Education Secretary turned down plans to close the school.
On Friday Darren visited the school to congratulate them on their victory.
He said:
“I have visited Ysgol Llanbedr many times, but in the past five years the visits have been overshadowed by the doubt hanging over the future of the school. It was therefore great to return on Friday following last month’s fantastic news that the school will remain open and to celebrate with the pupils and staff who are absolutely over the moon that the uncertainty is at last over.
He added:
“During the visit I spoke to the children and they gave me a special performance as part of their Christmas show rehearsals. Parents are in for a treat. Their dancing will give Theresa May a run for her money!”
