A schoolgirl from Ysgol Betws yn Rhos was selected from hundreds of entries to win a competition to design an official Christmas card for Clwyd West Assembly Member Darren Millar.
The theme of this year’s competition, which was open to schools in Conwy and Denbighshire, was 'What Christmas means to me' and 11-year-old Sadie Owen did a beautiful picture of the nativity scene.
Darren said:
“I was delighted that so many local schools took part in my annual Christmas Card competition.
“The standard of the designs was very high and it is always difficult to select a winner, but this year my favourite design was by the very talented Sadie Owen.
“Her entry reminds us all that Christmas is not just about gifts and Santa - it's about Jesus Christ.”
He added; “The winning entry has been used as the design for my official Christmas card and has been sent out to hundreds of people who can enjoy Sadie's artwork for themselves.”
