Clwyd West AM Darren Millar has congratulated two businesses in his constituency selected as finalists in “The Rural Oscars”.
“The Rural Oscars", the Countryside Alliance Annual Awards, are the leading rural business awards to win. Operating across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland they celebrate the very best of rural produce and community.
This week Darren met with two finalists shortlisted from Clwyd West, Siop Uwchaled Cerrigydrudion (https://www.siopuwchaled.co.uk/) and Llandegla Community Village Shop (www.llandeglashop.com)
Siop Uwchaled Cerrigydrudion has been in the village of Cerrigydrudion for decades with a rich history of providing fresh local produce and services to the local community and to travellers moving through North Wales along the A5.
Meanwhile Llandegla Community Village Shop, which in February last year, won the 2016 award for contribution to the community by the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley AONB, is a huge hit with villagers, walkers and cyclists using the shop as a convenience store and café destination.
Darren said:
“The Countryside Alliance Annual Awards really are the top awards, so for not one, but two, businesses in my constituency to make it to the finals is absolutely fantastic.
“It was great to meet with them both in the Senedd this week to give them a well-deserved pat on the back.
“I am delighted that the Countryside Alliance have recognised the fantastic work they are doing in championing quality local produce and providing an outlet for local producers, as well as providing great meeting places for residents and visitors. I congratulate them both and wish them all the luck for the future.”
