Clwyd West Assembly Member Darren Millar is urging as many people as possible to turn up to a public meeting in Colwyn Bay tonight to discuss the future of health services in North Wales.
The Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is currently consulting on plans to reorganise NHS services across North Wales. Under the proposals Colwyn Bay Community Hospital is set to see its Minor Injuries Unit close.
When asked to comment Darren said:
"There has been widespread public concern over the future of NHS services in North Wales and this public meeting will allow people to have their say on the health board’s plans.
"It is essential that the views of the public are listened to by the health board and that the people of North Wales are able to influence decisions about local NHS services.
"Many of my constituents are particularly anxious about the proposed closure of the Minor Injuries Unit at Colwyn Bay Community Hospital so the meeting will consider this issue in some detail.
"As the largest town on the North Wales coast, Colwyn Bay ought to have a hospital which is has sufficient services and resources to meet local needs.
"Anyone with an interest in Colwyn Bay Community Hospital and North Wales NHS services should attend this meeting."
The public meeting will take place on Friday 7th September, at 7pm in the Clwyd Suite at the Eirias Leisure Centre.
