A Ruthin Housing development, which once completed will provide 63 energy efficient affordable homes, has been commended by Clwyd West MS Darren Millar who visited the scheme last week.
The new Glasdir Clwyd Alun Housing Association development, which is seen as the one of the Housing Association’s most innovative developments, opened in the summer when 18 tenants moved in.
The development includes a mixture of homes that comprises of one, two, three and four-bedroom homes, varying from bungalows, apartments, semi-detached and detached homes as well as adapted bungalows designed by JHP Architects.
Speaking following his visit Darren said:
“The development is already part occupied and when it is finished it will provide 63 energy efficient affordable homes for those who live there.
“The 'homes for life' have electric vehicle charging points, air source heat pumps, solar panels, triple glazing, porous drives and other features to minimise their impact on the environment.
“It is a very impressive scheme, providing good quality, energy efficient, affordable homes to an area which sorely needed them.
“Given that work only started on the scheme in 2021, what has been achieved deserves huge praise. I thank all those involved for providing these homes so quickly and look forward to seeing more tenants move in in the not too distant future.”
