Clwyd West MS Darren Millar has praised a Rhyl charity supporting young mums and their babies for all that it has achieved since his last visit less than 12 months ago.
Last July, Darren called to see the team at Blossom and Bloom, who are based in Rhyl’s White Rose Centre, to learn more about the charity which was established just four years ago.
Last week, he visited their new development hub for an update on their work and was pleased to hear and see that the charity is thriving following their recent expansion.
Commenting after his visit, Darren said:
“It was a real pleasure to revisit Blossom and Bloom last week. They are a wonderful, dedicated team, headed by Vicky Welsman-Millard, who always provide a warm welcome and I am not surprised that since I was last there so much more has been achieved.
“Just last month they opened their second hub within the town’s White Rose Centre. This follows the success of their ‘wellbeing hub’, which was opened 12 months ago.
“The development hub offers a separate learning and development space, away from the hustle and bustle of the original hub, which continues to provide a popular drop-in cafe, swap-shop and play area for mums, dads and babies.
“It offers mums training, courses and enterprise opportunities in retail and beauty.
“The team told me it was designed with one mission in mind – to empower and uplift individuals and businesses. It is described by them as “your go-to destination for unlocking your full potential”.
“Funds for the new hub were secured from Conwy and Denbighshire Shared Prosperity Fund, Gwynt Y Mor Windfarm and many sponsors, including The Rotary Club of Rhyl, Inner Wheel, Torello Lounge and Starbucks Rhuddlan.”
Darren added:
“It was good to have the opportunity to congratulate Vicky and the rest of the team for the invaluable work they do. They are such a compassionate and hard-working group, and I am confident they will continue to thrive and develop the charity further. I wish them continued success going forward.”
From the development hub, which is situated opposite the works in the White Rose Centre, Blossom and Bloom run a Money, Numbers & Maths course (Thursday’s 1-3pm), which helps with ‘budgeting your household expenditure.
The course is free to any adults who will benefit, m ums, dads, and guardians are invited to attend these course. No booking required.
