Clwyd West AM Darren Millar has welcomed news that residents in Pensarn will soon see the return of post office services on their doorstep.
Pensarn Post Office closed temporarily in August 2016 with the post office stating “circumstances beyond their control” as the reason for the closure.
The closure was a great inconvenience to customers, particularly the elderly, who were forced to travel to neighbouring towns to access post office services.
In an email to Darren this week, Post Office Limited said that Pensarn Post Office, which was previously located on Marine Drive, will be reopening later this year on the same road but at the new location in Premier Convenience Stores.
Darren said:
“This is great news for the people of Pensarn. The Post Office is at the heart of so many communities, providing vital services to residents and businesses, but unfortunately in recent years we have witnessed many communities losing these assets. It is therefore always great to see investment in Post Office services and I am sure that customers old and new in Pensarn will welcome the return of post office services close to their homes.”
Post Office Limited will now carry out a six week local public consultation on the new location, with the hope that the new branch may open in March 2018.
