Clwyd West MS Darren Millar is encouraging people to download an app which will allow them to report crimes or concerns on the rail network, share their journeys with trusted contacts, and get access to news, guides, or support.
The free Railway Guardian app is an all-in-one safety app from the British Transport Police.
People travelling by rail can play a part in making everyone’s journey a good one, by:
- downloading the app
- reporting crimes and concerns
- learning about acceptable behaviour on the network and setting an example
- being an active bystander
Darren said:
“I would encourage everyone who travels by rail to download this app.
“Commuting when the days are shorter can be daunting for many. The app enables you to share your journey with your trusted contacts, ask for help, or alert them when you've arrived safely, giving both them and you peace of mind when you travel. It is the only police-backed safety app.
“It also enables you to learn about acceptable behaviour on the network and report any crimes or concerns.
“So, whether you need guidance, support, or to report any crimes or concerns on the network, Railway Guardian has you covered.”
