Clwyd West Assembly Member Darren Millar has welcomed news that Post Office services in a Denbighshire village have been restored.
The branch at Llandegla closed temporarily almost two years ago because the Postmaster resigned and the premises were withdrawn for Post Office use. Since that time local residents have had to travel to nearby towns to access post office services.
In order to restore Post Office services to customers in the village, Post Office Ltd have introduce a Hosted Outreach service which operates from Llandegla Community Shop
Darren said:
“Post Offices offer a social lifeline to those that they serve, particularly the elderly and the vulnerable and it has been concerning to see so many of them close over the years. I am therefore extremely pleased that Post Office Ltd have resumed services in Llandegla, and I am sure local residents will share in my delight.
“I know some customers may be concerned about carrying out their Post Office business in a different type of environment from what they are used to, but these outreach services have proved a huge success in other areas and in no means compromise the professional service that we all expect to be provided at all our Post Office branches.
The services are available in the shop every Thursday between 9am and 11am.
