Pupils from two Kinmel Bay schools learnt more about Welsh politics during a recent visit to the Welsh Assembly.
Clwyd West AM Darren Millar met up with pupils and staff from Ysgol Y Foryd and Ysgol Maes Owen during their Cardiff trip and answered their questions about the Senedd and the role of an AM.
He said:
“It was great to catch up with these young people from my constituency. I have visited them on their home ground numerous times, so it was a delight to welcome them to Cardiff Bay.
“They seemed to enjoy their visit and showed a keen interest in Welsh politics – particularly those who are members of their respective school councils and those who took part in mock elections on the same date as the general election in May - I’m sure that there were a few budding politicians amongst them!”
Last year Ysgol Y Foryd received three ‘excellent’ ratings by the Welsh schools inspectorate Estyn and earned themselves praise from Darren in the Seneed and a visit from the Welsh Education Minister Huw Lewis.
