Health Minister Lesley Griffiths has given assurances about the long tern future of Ruthin Hospital.
The Minister reassured members of Ruthin Hospital Action Group during a meeting with them at the Hospital yesterday.
Clwyd West AM Darren Millar who set up the meeting said:
“The meeting went very well, the Minister listened to the concerns raised by the action group and gave assurances about the long term future of the hospital.
“The action group was established in September to campaign against Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board’s controversial NHS reconfiguration plans, which could see the Minor Injuries Unit and X-ray services at the hospital axed. The group have had my support from the start and I'm looking forward to continuing to work with them to protect services at Ruthin Hospital.”
Chair of Ruthin Hospital Action Group, Huw Hilditch Roberts, added: “Engaging with the Health Board and Ministers enables us to have an open and transparent discussions around services for local residents. We were able to emphasis to the Minister that access to services in South Denbighshire is vital.”
After the meeting, Darren was presented with a 2,000 name petition by Huw Hilditch-Roberts to protect services at the hospital.
