Those interested in the future of Kinmel Bay Library are being encouraged to give their views at a special consultation event being held next month.
Three years ago Kinmel Library was earmarked for closure, but a partnership has now been forged between the local authority, town council and a voluntary steering committee to ensure its longevity.
Part of the process is to consult with residents to establish the type of provision required and opportunities for innovation. Therefore an event is being held at the library on Tuesday December 10th , providing people with the opportunity to put forwards their views.
Clwyd West AM Darren Millar, who in 2010 worked with local councillors to save Kinmel Bay Library from closure, is encouraging as many residents as possible to attend.
He said:
“It was a long, hard fight to save Kinmel Bay Library from closure and I know the local community were delighted when it was thrown a lifeline by the town council, therefore I urge them to show their support for the development of a community library by attending next month’s consultation event and having their say on its future.
“The Library Service is working hard to survive and it is crucial that it receives feedback from users in order to create a facility that meets their needs and will be well used.”
The drop-in consultation will take place at the library on December 10th between 10am and 7pm. It is open to the whole the family, with a range of activities for all ages throughout the day.
