Guests from around the world flocked in Cardiff last week to take part in a Parliamentary Prayer Event and exhibition to mark St David’s Day.
Despite the horrific weather conditions last Thursday, guests from across the globe including, Singapore, Israel, Palestine, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland arrived at the Senedd to take part in the first St David’s Parliamentary Prayer Breakfast for Wales.
Clwyd West AM Darren Millar, who hosted the event, along with his colleagues Mike Hedges AM, Dai Lloyd AM, Russell George AM, described the event as a huge success.
He said:
“We couldn’t have hoped for a better first Parliamentary Prayer Breakfast for Wales, with guests from all over the world in attendance. Not even the Beast from the East prevented the event from going ahead!
“Our special guest speaker was BBC Broadcaster Vaughan Roderick and there were performances by former West End musical star Huw Priday and his wife Elizabeth, of the Royal Opera.
“The Breakfast also coincided with an exhibition of rare items from the archives of the National Library of Wales which represent significant chapters in Wales’ rich history.
“It truly was a momentous event and a fantastic way to celebrate St David’s Day. I would like to thank all those who travelled from far and wide to attend this inaugural event, particularly given the treacherous weather conditions.”
