Clwyd West AM Darren Millar has congratulated Boots UK on its launch of the Reading Well Books on Prescription for dementia initiative which took place in Colwyn Bay Library last week.
The Reading Well scheme was launched by the Chair of Conwy Country Borough Council, Councillor Peter Lewis, and aims to support people with dementia and their families by providing advice and information in the form of a booklist.
Information on the scheme is available in all Boots stores in North Wales.
Speaking following the launch of the scheme Darren said:
“This is a fantastic initiative which will help hundreds of people in my constituency who are affected by dementia. The books will help foster a greater understanding of the condition for those with family members suffering from dementia and help those with dementia to cope with their diagnosis.
“The Reading Well books will have a real positive impact on the lives of people living with dementia and I would urge anyone who would like to find more information to visit their local Boots store or library.”
Darren added:
“I would like to thank Chris Feliciello of Boots UK for arranging this launch. It will help to support the work which is underway in North Wales of building dementia friendly communities.”
