Politics in the world of business was the subject for discussion when Clwyd West MS Darren Millar recently visited a Colwyn Bay School.
The Business department at Ysgol Bryn Elian invited Darren to the school to meet with A Level Business students who are covering a topic about political factors that affect businesses in Wales.
Darren was asked to provide an insight into how these decisions are made, “to enrich the learning of our students”.
During the discussion, he outlined the law making processes in the Welsh Parliament and also explained how political factors affect business activity in Wales, the rest of the UK and the world and spoke about the importance of purchasing power of the public sector as a customer for goods and services from the private sector.
During his visit, he also presented the prize for photography at the school’s annual Eisteddfod.
Speaking after his visit, Darren said:
“I have visited Ysgol Bryn Elian many times over the years and it is always an enjoyable experience.
“It was great to meet the A Level Business students and to discuss politics in the world of business with them.
“It is a very interesting subject and the students asked some incisive questions.
“I thank the Business department for inviting me and wish all the students every success with the remainder of the course and future exams.”
