Commenting on the recent appointment of former Betsi Cadwaladr mental health director Lesley Singleton as an independent board member last week and her subsequent stepping down today, Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for North Wales, Darren Millar MS said:
“As a former executive director of the Health Board with close ties to the current senior team, Lesley Singelton should never have been appointed in the first place.
“The appointment is yet another example of the dreadful judgment exercised by the Health Minister and adds to the chaos she has already inflicted by forcing the previous Board Members to step down.
“The shambolic way that Labour has mishandled the crisis in leadership at Betsi has prolonged the problems and failures in the NHS in North Wales and people in the region deserve an apology."
