An Abergele school girl has won herself and her family a trip to the zoo after taking part in Clwyd West AM Darren Millar’s annual Christmas card competition.
Six-year-old Bethan Ritchie, a pupil at Ysgol Glan Gele, came first out of hundreds of entries in Darren’s contest, which this year was themed ‘The Great Christmas Bake Off.”
After considering all the entries, Darren and his team declared Bethan the worthy winner for her excellent and creative drawing of a young girl decorating a cake in the theme of the nativity.
Darren said:
“Once again, hundreds of children from every corner of the constituency entered the compettion and Darren Millar’s constituency office in Abergele was inundated with designs.
“I would like to thank every single child that entered the competition, it was obvious from looking through all the entries that they had all put in much time and effort. Choosing an overall winner was difficult, however, we were all in agreement that Bethan’s drawing was superb and completely embraced this year’s theme of ‘the Great Christmas Bake Off’ and I am sure that everyone who receives my Christmas card this year will be impressed when they see the picture.
“This year’s card has been sponsored by the Welsh Mountain Zoo in Colwyn Bay and Bethan will receive free entry to the zoo for her and her family. I hope they all have a fantastic day out, as well as a great Christmas.”
