Clwyd West AM Darren Millar has become an IWF Champion, thereby supporting the work of the Internet Watch Foundation and its fight against child sexual abuse images and videos on the internet.
The IWF is the UK internet Hotline for the public to report child sexual abuse content, criminally obscene adult content and non-photographic images of child sexual abuse in a secure and confidential way.
By becoming an IWF Champion, Darren pledges to raise awareness of the importance of the fight against online child sexual abuse content.
He said:
“The IWF successfully works in partnership with the online industry, law enforcement, government, and international partners to minimise the availability of this content. The work they do is globally considered as one of the best examples in its field and I am pleased to be given this opportunity to support their fight against child sexual abuse images and videos on the internet.”
Susie Hargreaves, CEO of the Internet Watch Foundation, said: “We are absolutely delighted with the support we receive from our IWF Champions and it shows their commitment to our goal of eliminating child sexual abuse content on the internet."
Reports to the IWF can be made on www.iwf.org.uk.
