To mark Wales Tourism Week 2023, Clwyd West MS Darren Millar visited a popular tourist attraction in his constituency which has been pulling in tens-of-thousands of visitors every year since it opened nine years ago.
Wales Tourism Week 2023 is an opportunity for tourism sites across Wales to invite their local politicians and others to raise awareness of the sector and showcase the quality of Wales’ tourism offer to both UK domestic and international tourists.
This year, Darren chose to visit Manorafon Farm Park in Abergele and catch up with owners Will and Jules Arrowsmith.
The couple opened the Farm Park in 2014 when they welcomed just over one thousand visitors. Since that time the tourist attraction has gone from strength to strength and is much used by both locals and tourists.
Darren said:
“It is always a pleasure to visit Will and Jules at Manorafon Farm. What they have created over the past nine years is something quite special and I am not surprised by their huge success.
“The farm park is in a fabulous location, sitting within the walls of Gwrych Castle – the home of ITV’s I’m a Celebrity… Get me out of here 2020 - and provides a value for money family day out.
“Children love visiting the array of animals, from the fluffy bunnies in Pets Corner to the larger farm animals, and exploring the play spaces - whilst grown-ups get to relax because the children are happy.
“The past few years have been extremely challenging for tourism businesses due to Covid, so Will and Jules deserve to be applauded for their achievements. They are continually growing their business and offer their customers a unique visitor experience.
“Their events are a real treat and something out of the ordinary. They have a new for 2023 ‘Farm Fest’ coming up in May half term, which promises “non-stop family fun as we mash-up countryside fair and Ibiza party”, and the Dinosaurs are back for the summer holidays.
“Manorafon Farm Park really is an asset to North Wales and I am proud to have such an impressive tourist attraction in my constituency. I thank Will, Jules and their fantastic team for all they are doing and wish them continued success in the future.”
